Hey, love bugs! About a week or so ago I went to Chicago for 4 days and boy did I do a lot! So let’s get started, I can’t wait to share my adventures with you!
So we flew in on a Thursday at 11:45, so we just went to the hotel and slept until morning. Friday we woke up and started the day off with a big hotel buffet style breakfast and then headed to our new place to stay.
This trip was a mother, daughter trip. So my mom’s bestie and I flew out to meet my mom in Chicago because she was going to an event, for her job. The hotel we stayed at was one my mom’s company provided, which was a Hilton Double Tree and they are always amazing.
When we go to our new hotel, Hotel Indigo, they were doing major renovations. My mom’s bestie was so upset because she booked it and it is her favorite place to stay in the city. The decor used to me a Morrocan style, with bright colors and a cute bar right in front. If you’re planning on going to Chicago, dont stay there, becaue they also didnt let her know when booking they were under construction.
Once we dropped our stuff off at Hotel Indigo the first stop was the Nutella Cafe on Michigan AVE. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
After we hit Millenium Park to see the park and the cutest giant fruit – THE BEAN!
After leaving the park we were off to Navy Pier! We rode the Ferris wheel and it had such an amazing view! The weather there was was windy and cold! Mostly because we were so close to the water.
After Navy Pier, we went back to the hotel room to freshen up and grab some dinner.
On Saturday we went to the infamous Field Museum! There are so many exhibits that we couldn’t do everything. So we chose the mummy and the evolution displays. There were real mummies there but not King Tut, the exhibit was so incredible, from the displays to all the information they provided, plus all of the real mummies the had!
Now on to the delicious food! We finally went to Giordano’s Chicago Pizzeria were I got my real taste of why Chicago rave’s about their pizza. Let me tell you, so worth it. We also got garlic bread and bruschetta for the table which were really, really, fantastic.
Naturally, we all fell into a food coma for a couple of hours but once we awoke it was time to see the nightlife of Chi-Town.
My good friend was my personal tour guide for this one and took me to the most interesting places. The first bar was called happy camper which had actual campers in the restaurant! The next place we went to was called Mother’s. There were two huge rooms from what I
could tell, one was red and everyone was doing karaoke the second, where we were, it was blue and green. We were mostly listening to the DJ, drinking, and dancing.
Rolling in at 4 am I was still able to wake up early to make it to the Sky Deck by 10 am. This was such an incredible experience that I absolutely recommend. Honestly, get there early and if you can just do the fast pass. If you get there early you’ll wait 20 minutes. I didn’t and waited an hour and a half. Totally worth it, in my opinion, I mean, look at these shots.
From being starstruck at the sky deck to brunch. I made my way down from the 103 floor of the building and took a Lyft to meet up with my people at this place called Steak Bar.
This place was heaven! All different food on the 3 levels of this place! Amazing! Plus, a donut wall! With fresh donuts that you can just pick off.
We left after Brunch but can I say for 4 days in Chicago, I loved every minute. From the weather to the architecture, to even the people! I go back in August for the Lollapalooza music festival and I can’t wait!
